Bus Ticket Booking

On site Booking
This is completely doable and usually the easiest way for people who don’t read Chinese. Usually you can get a ticket even if you book it on arrival. Most buses will have vacant seats except during Chinese holidays or weekends. Please note even though everything is becoming digital that where will still be a counter where you can line up to buy ticket. Although if you do use WeChat or Alipay, you can do it quickly.

Online Booking Beforehand
Online booking of bus ticket is available at some of the stations. Normally the booking is available 2 weeks prior. And you need to provide your personal information especially a local phone number. This is not recommended if you don’t read Chinese because everything online is still Chinese.
Useful Tips
You need to be on time, though the bus may wait for 5-10 minutes for you if you are late. Check in time varies from 10 minutes prior to 30 minutes prior.
Entering bus station you will be asked to put your luggage through the security scanner, water or water bottle will be checked. Gas cans and gas canisters are not allowed.
All buses are required to have seat belts, and you will be told to use them all the time.
Usually you will have a seat number on the ticket you bought and you sit by the number.
Smoking is not allowed on the buses anymore but you may see people eating very delicious food.
